In my work, I seek to reveal deeper structures—the forces that shape the world, the invisible axes that organize it, the geometries inherited from the past.

In Paris, we walk upon a ground whose framework was laid long before us, a fabric of stone, history, and culture that inscribes our existence into an order we do not always perceive.

This project explores a fundamental element of our daily lives: Fontainebleau sandstone. From the decree of Philippe Auguste in the 12th century to the 20th century, the cobblestones of Paris have taken shape from this very material. Within this stone, a purity of silica crystallizes—a silent presence that bears witness to the passage of time.

At the extraction sites, nothing has changed. The gestures remain the same, the tools barely modernized. These quarries are a suspended space where history repeats itself, where the layers of the past rise to the surface of the present.
